Whilst welcoming the Islamic family to my home it never occurred to me that the Muslim man would refuse to shake my hand as I greeted him and his family..

So here was a man who was prepared to live in my country, rent my house on Airbnb, sit in my bath, use my towels, sit on my toilets, sleep in my bed, in my bedroom, between my sheets but he still wouldn't shake my hand. Go figure! It never occurred to me that I caused offence by offerering to greet him like a European.
