A newly-unearthed video from 2000 shows Minnesota Democratic Sen. Al Franken cracking jokes about anal child rape at a Comedy Central event:

A 2000 Comedy Central Roast of director Rob Reiner featured Franken making baby rape jokes about Reiner. "On a typical night, Carl [Reiner] would slip into Rob's bed, roll him over, swab him down and say something like, 'I'm thinking about hiring Morey Amsterdam to play Buddy Sorrell, what do you think?'" Franken said as Reiner blurted out, "Oh, Jesus."

"Well, the success of The Dick Van Dyke Show changed things dramatically, Carl started inviting many of his famous friends to fuck his son," Franken continued. "That list includes some of the greats in comedy: Paul Lynde, Dom DeLuise, Rip Taylor, Danny Kaye, Charles Nelson Reilly and Rock Hudson - whom, I frankly don't think is that funny."

"Thank you for doing so much to make sure another kid doesn't end up like you," Franken snarked.

Conservative author Ann Coulter brought up Franken's child rape jokes as controversy swirled around former Breitbart tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos after unearthed video showed him making pedophilia jokes.

Franken canceled an upcoming appearance on the HBO late-night show "Real Time With Bill Maher" after Maher cracked a joke about not being a "house nigger" while interviewing Nebraska Republican Sen. Ben Sasse.

"What Bill Maher said was inappropriate and offensive, which is why he made the decision not to appear on the next episode of 'Real Time,'" a spokesman for Franken said.

Franken also canceled an event with Kathy Griffin to promote his new book, after Griffin released a photo of her posing with President Donald Trump's severed, bloodied head.

Why is Franken suddenly so afraid of vulgar humor? Is he worried voters will confront him over his past child rape jokes?
