ISIS on the move again, chanting 'Thank you America!... er, oops... Death to America!'
The US and Saudi Arabia have agreed to grant free passage to thousands of Islamic State militants before the Iraqi city of Mosul is stormed. The jihadists will be redeployed to fight against the government in Syria, a military-diplomatic source told RIA Novosti.
"More than 9,000 Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS, ISIL) militants will be redeployed from Mosul to the eastern regions of Syria to carry out a major offensive operation, which involves capturing Deir ez-Zor and Palmyra," the
source said.
According to the anonymous diplomatic source, US President Barack Obama has already sanctioned an operation to liberate Mosul, due to take place in October.
During the storm of the city in northern Iraq, the US-led coalition's planes would only strike detached, vacated or uninhabited buildings, while keeping terrorists as targets, he said.
In September, US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter confirmed that
Washington would send an additional 600 troops to Iraq to help liberate Mosul at the request of the local authorities.
The source suggested that redeployment of IS militants is necessary because
"Washington must somehow counter Russia's achievements in Syria, try to diminish their importance.""Apart from the purely political dividends, the other purpose of this operation, obviously, will be to discredit the success of Russian Airspace forces. And, of course, it's an attempt to undermine Syrian President (Bashar) Assad," he said.
The leadership of Saudi Arabia's General Intelligence Directorate will be the mediators and guarantors of the agreement on safe passage for the jihadists from Mosul, he claimed.
The source added that
a similar scheme had been used by the US and its allies during the liberation of the Iraqi city of Fallujah.
Damascus has accused Washington for coordinating with IS after an airstrike against the Syrian government troops near the city of Deir ez-Zor on September 17. Washington said that the bombing, in which 83 soldiers were killed and over 100 injured, was a mistake.
Comment: Given all that we've learned about the strategic alignment of the US (and its allies) with ISIS/ISIL/Daesh, would it surprise you to learn that they're
literally coordinating military actions - directly - with 'the Islamist terrorists'?
If true, it fits right in with the plans the U.S. and its allies have had all along. From the 2012 DIA memo:
THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF ESTABLISHING A DECLARED OR UNDECLARED SALAFIST PRINCIPALITY IN EASTERN SYRIA (HASAKA AND DER ZOR), AND THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE SUPPORTING POWERS TO THE OPPOSITION WANT, IN ORDER TO ISOLATE THE SYRIAN REGIME.
Update: Said Mamuzini, a representative for Iraqi Kurdistan's KDP,
confirmed a version of this to Sputnik:
According to him, the Iraqi Army and Kurdish Peshmerga forces are completing preparations for the offensive, including deployment of heavy weapons to Mosul's borders.
The Kurdish forces have received military assistance from the West for the operation. In particular, Germany provided them with Milan anti-tank missile systems. France and the United States are supplying heavy weapons to Kurds. French aircraft will be involved in the operation, Mamuzini said.
According to him, the offensive will be divided into three stages. The first stage will include the liberation of villages outside the city. Then, the army and the Kurdish forces will enter Mosul and clear the outskirts of jihadists. Finally, the city will be completely liberated.
"Nevertheless, during the operation a corridor will be left for terrorists to escape to Syria. Those retreating this way will not be captured. Currently, there are some 7,000 Daesh militants. But the operation is not expected to be long because the terrorists are not as strong as before," he said.
Moreover, the operation could cause mass displacement of Mosul residents. Currently, the population of the city is 1.3 million. It is expected that up to one million people might leave Mosul.
In other words, the terrorists will have a "humanitarian cover" - civilian human shields - for making their way to safety. If they travel into Syria, will they be identifiable as militants, opening them up to air strikes? Or will they be able to join in the assault on Deir ez-Zor?
The U.S. and its crooked buddies are dead set on just keepin' on keepin' on cranking up those favorite little wind up toys and send them off to marchin' to do their dirty work for them.
