Last evening, the Ukrainian Army tried to break through the defense line north of Donetsk, Ukrainian soldiers were stopped by small arms fire, DAN news agency reported, citing the Operational Command of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
"Today at 20:50, a day before the announced regime of complete ceasefire, the enemy has tried to break in the area of the village of Avdeevka on one of the sectors of our defense and displace DPR units from their positions. However, the enemy was stopped small arms fire," the news agency quoted the words of a representative of the DPR's Operational Command.
According to the Operational Command, one Ukrainian infantry combat vehicle was hit by a light anti-tank weapon; a chassis of the vehicle was damaged.

After suffering losses, Ukrainian units started to retreat, covering themselves with chaotic fire of the second infantry combat vehicle in the direction of the DPR positions.
"As a result of the repulse of the enemy attack, one DPR soldier was killed," the representative of the DPR's Operational Command said.
At the same time, representatives of the headquarters of the Ukrainian Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) said that during the past day, DPR fighters opened fire on positions of Ukrainian military in the ATO zone 50 times. According to the Ukrainian version, the highest number of attacks took place in Donetsk direction - 26, a little less - 20 times - near Mariupol.

According to the Ukrainian side, "Ukrainian soldiers did not respond to the provocations and consistently adhered to the Minsk agreements."

Will remind, on Tuesday, head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko and head of the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) Igor Plotnitskiy announced that the republics will implement a unilateral ceasefire, starting September 15th, and call on Kiev "to take it seriously."
