We're hesitant to even write about this, but in case you were wondering: Erdogan has announced that he will never recognize Russia's "unlawful annexation" of Crimea. This guy is a real hoot:
President Erdoğan said in a speech on Wednesday with his Ukranian counterpart Petro Poroshenko that Turkey has not recognized Russia's unlawful annexation of Crimea and will not recognize it from now on.Yeah, being asked by a sovereign government to help root out foreign-backed terrorists is not a legitimate pretext for getting involved in Syria. If you're not violating Syria's sovereignty, like the US or Turkey, you're not "intervening" in the right way!
...
He also rejected Russia's intervention in Syria on the pretext that it was made on the call of the Syrian regime.
Erdogan is honestly the most butthurt leader currently polluting the world stage. No wonder he gets along so well with Poroshenko:
Maybe Erdogan is planning to help Ukraine's super elite army "take back" Crimea? We certainly hope so.
Not surprisingly, there's a (popular?) theory in Turkey that Crimea should be given to....yes, you guessed it: Turkey! Because of some treaty signed 300 year sago.
In the last 18 months, almost 2,000 criminal cases have been opened against Turks who have "insulted" Erdogan.
It's time to stop hurting the feelings of this very sensitive, special snowflake and return Crimea to Turkey. We hope you're listening, Putin.

Comment: Both Erdogan's and Poroshenko's forces have committed atrocities as horrific as burning to death innocent civilians for political gain, so their opinions on what is and what is not 'lawful' have absolutely no bearing on reality.
