The MoD confirmed on Wednesday that Typhoons were sent out to escort the two Russian Tupolev Tu-160 Blackjack aircraft away from the UK coastline.
The Russian bombers have not entered UK airspace, but are currently inside the UK's area of interest, a MoD spokesperson said.
The British Typhoons, part of the UK's Quick Reaction Alert system, were dispatched from RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire, and are escorting the bombers toward the North Sea, according to Sky News.
This is the latest in a spate of recent incidents where British jets were scrambled to intercept Russian bombers skirting UK airspace.

Let's face it, the UK/UsRael overtly! claim they are morally superior to other nations. (Some animals - particularly certain literary swine - consider themselves 'special' and 'better' than others; a/k/a, 'we' - 'our' US Government - claims the US as being 'more equal' than others.)
Stop and think about the whole American Exceptionalism "doctrine" - our 'holier than thou' self proclaimed 'status - and more particularly as it presently exists- i.e., NOT as we were/MIGHT have been, during the era of the Nuremberg trials. All of 'our' leaders repeat this lie daily and it's stuck into the heads of most Americans and certainly has contributed to the often frankly rude actions of American tourists abroad, and the classic world perception of individual Americans as overly proud of accomplishments they had nothing to do with, etc. (Again, holier than thou/more equal than others.)
'Our' NeoConArtists constantly keep such ancient events alive - WWII movies are as common as ever. It's as if WW II had never ceased.
More importantly, judging the US by 'our' actions, rather than our claims, we clearly would now be convicted by that same Nuremberg Court under the doctrines 'we' there proclaimed, and then quickly forgot about.
This expansion of claims by the West's PTB(s), such as
- That other countries are overly militarized, while the US spending on OFFENSE!/WAR (NewSpeak: Defense.) is about equal to the entire rest of the world's nations.
- That we, the US ALONE - along with our accepted acolytes in London and Tel Aviv, that we ALONE have the right to play not just world policeman, but also be its judge, jury and executioner.
- That we ALONE can have an active bioweapons program
- That we ALONE can have an proclaim that we have the moral right to conduct a first strike with nuclear weapons;
- That we ALONE have the right to execute ANYONE ANYWHERE, including American citizens and American Children!!! (Our only defense to that particular killing? That child "should have chosen a better father!" ARGH!
Well if we, America, as we presently stand, are so damn admirable and morally superior - why then do we have more people incarcerated both per capita and en toto than any other nation on earth???
The gullibility of the American/Western public's populace can be traced to a combination of intentional actions by 'our' governments as controlled by the PTB, which such actions include:
- The programming and dumbing down of our citizens through a multi fronted war on awareness and truth, the primary tools used are ongoing teaching of lies as truth - e.g., Pearl Harbor is STILL taught as a surprise attack!, etc.) plus the combined onslaught on intelligence and truth by 'our' schools, MSM and TV/Idiot Box in general.
