Earth Changes
The cause: above-average volcanic eruptions around the world for the last nine months, including three in the last month - in Eastern Russia, Alaska and Indonesia. The release of sulfur into the atmosphere from volcanic eruptions reflects sunlight back out to space.
The meteorologist predicted cooler-than-normal summer temperatures "because of well-above-normal volcanic eruptions going back to the fall of 2013. We are not going to see many hot periods. Sure, there will be a few days here and there where temperatures reach 100 degrees in Oklahoma, but it's not going to be very common."
"What's going to be more common is more moisture coming in off the Eastern seaboard of the U.S., and it will be pushing frontal boundaries from east to west, cooling down even parts of the Midwest in July and August," he continued. "We think the first two weeks of September will be warmer. But then it will be getting quite a bit colder toward the end of September, and even into October."
These cooler temperatures could damage the corn crop, Atkins explained.
"We think there's going to be an early frost [in the Plains west of Kansas], which could reduce the number of bushels per acre of corn - maybe by around 8%, our current rate of prediction," he said. "It will be a killing freeze, at least 10 to 15 days earlier than normal."
Meanwhile, Atkins expects flash flooding in the Midwest this week, from Nebraska down to Arkansas, even reaching into parts of the Tennessee River Valley. "Some of these winds will reach 80 miles per hour with hail, producing lots of flash flooding. Some fields in the Midwest will suffer from too much rain," he said.
The good news in Atkins' forecast is that strong rains during the last month have ended drought conditions in the Great Plains. Although temperatures in the Plains are normal now, Atkins expects temperatures to rise starting as early as this weekend. "It's going back to being hot again until the mid to latter half of July, when it will get rainy again," he said.
Atkins, who offers a subscription forecasting service in conjunction with Brock Associates, predicts drier-than-normal conditions in July in the Upper Midwest from Illinois all the way out to Wyoming. "But it won't be a disaster because of cooler-than-normal conditions," he added. The situation will return to normal when more moisture arrives in September and October.
Atkins had some good news for growers in Texas, where he forecasts above-average precipitation from July through October. "We see more and more moisture coming up from Texas," he said. "This will not allow too much drought to occur on much of the Plains this summer."
Comment: As happy as the increase in rainfall will make some farmers in the short term, this is one of the precursors of the onset of a new Ice Age. The increase in rainfall, coupled with temperatures that don't reach expected summer highs, means that winter snows never really go away. This increases the reflection of solar radiation away from Earth, further causing the temperature to fall. The cycle is self-reinforcing. Add to that the reflecting properties of volcanic eruptions, and the cycle speeds up even more.

I'm not the one pretending to be a news organization, they are supposed to vet their own sources.
A guy masquerading as a "doctor" with an online PHD is probably not the best place to start.
Every web site is entitled to its bias, and I really like SOTT.NET, but the bias toward cold/ice age seems more than overdone here. Clearly, the weather is increasingly erratic, and one could almost say, "erratic in all directions," and not in one direction of much hotter or much colder. For example, NOAA reported today that globally this was the hottest May on record:

It seems to me that all simple extrapolations of weather trends are highly likely to fail in this turbulent environment.
if it's going colder or hotter, but it's crazy as hell, there have been storms everyday for a few months now, biblical floods, landslides lightning all over the place. Today when the storm began and first the wind, I was unable to stand on my feet, literally, I almost fell when the wind came out.
Signs of the Times is gathering many of the manifestations of this strangeness, including weather, earthquakes and comets. They are not only concentrating on weather being a problem.
@Thundering-Heard:
Sott (specifically, its 'owner and editor class{es}') is quirky as all hell, but it is currently my favorite site to post comments at. I've been on many sites and most produce of kind of soft porn product that is not at all conducive to genuine learning or teaching strategies, or for creating an evironment where humans might actually discover or share something useful, even by accident. They (most online news and public comment facilities) are that bad, basically just gumball machines, of a sort, where one can chew on something soft and gooey and blow bubbles and say, 'HEY WORLD, LOOK AT ME!'
Because Sott is so much in the minority (ie., not selling porn and gumballs) I predict happy days for humanity are about to end. Weather and climate disruptions could very much have something to do with it, too. Who knows?
But more importantly, I am also predicting 'happy days' will end because people, in general, no longer know how to produce food, shelter and clothing on their own, in the absence of government money, and because there are so many guns and other human killing weapons and machines available for instant deployment, as well as many detention centers ready and waiting....
I am sure there are more police, soldiers and gang members and sickos, than there are farmers and gardeners, seamstresses and weavers, and people who can fell and hew a log with hand tools.
Take cover,

SOTT, get some real sources please. Just like your "iceagenow" website that you like to promote your "facts" from... This "advanced forecasting" company is run by another scam artist without a real PHD.
