Another tragic police shooting happened last week in San Antonio. A 23 year old college student and prior valedictorian, Cameron Redus, was killed by a University of the Incarnate police officer Thursday night. Redus was pulled over for allegedly speeding when the situation escalated into the officer firing multiple shots at Redus, killing him on site.

"I heard (a man) say, 'Oh, you're gonna shoot me?' like sarcastic almost," said Mohammad Haidarasl, 22, who was on his couch in his ground-floor unit at the Treehouse Apartments in Alamo Heights at about 2 a.m.

Less than a minute later, Haidarasl heard four to six gunshots.

According to KTRK,

It's news that has shocked two communities - the shooting death of 23-year-old Cameron Redus by an officer with the University of the Incarnate Word Police Department in San Antonio.

"He's not an aggressive person at all, so the story just doesn't really make sense to any of us," said Sarah Davis, one of Redus' longtime friends

"Cameron was the sweetest, kindest, gentlest person," added friend Annie Jones. "So compassionate."

Redus graduated from Baytown Christian Academy: where he was co-valedictorian. His mother is a teacher there.

Comment: All over America police are acting like ruthless thugs, shooting or tasering people and animals for little if any reason.

I have a friend who's from Boston and we were discussing the police's actions following the Boston Marathon Bombing.

We specifically discussed the period when the city was put on lockdown and the militarized police were entering homes performing illegal searches and preventing people from leaving their homes.

My friend avidly defended the police action stating that the Bostonians welcomed the intrusion into their homes and into their lives.

No matter how I approached the idea that the suspects at that time were still innocent until proven guilty and that the public's rights were being utterly ignored, he still defended the police's actions.

My friend is a young guy and involved in the EDM scene. He is no stranger to bending the law a bit when it suits him, so to say that he is conservative is a stretch.

But there is no convincing him that the police actions on that day were not justified. He still thinks that the police state that we are slowly sliding into is for the best.

Our freedoms, the few that we truly have left, will be surrendered in the end. They cannot be forcefully taken so we will be convinced that it is our duty to sacrifice our freedoms for the greater good.

While this final measure is unavoidable, in my opinion, what really upsets me is that in the end we will hand out jailors the key to our prison cells. Prison cells which we built with our own ignorance.

Self-censorship in thought, word and deed, and acceptance of the word of authority. Sheeple being led to their slaughter as a sacrifice to stupidity, but isn't this how we learn... .'we' as in those not joining the herd? We need these sheeple to set a bad example for 'us' to learn from. Isn't this the reason they exist? We are them until we choose to be otherwise. The cops are merely doing as they've been trained by the Feds to do, treat civilians like sheep, terrorist sheep or at least potential terrorist sheep that should be slaughtered.

Then they get slaughtered in the same blindness. The difficulty is learning to step carefully around all these obstacles in life. Who can you trust? A uniform isn't a sign to be respected, but inspected for possible attack, usually unconsciously as is the way of the machine. It seems this valedictorian didn't learn any of this in his school. I'm not surprised, as it isn't taught there, only in the school of life. This should be a good lesson for those of us not joining the rest of the herd headed for the slaughterhouse, watch what you do and say when confronted with the minions of the beast, as the machine will react as programmed, which is to target you as a threat to its essential being. You are not on 'safe' ground, you have not reached 'sanctuary' to use the 'Logan's Run' analogy. It's like all the potential sheep who are starting to wake up are being targeted, which is 'smart' for their predators, who always attack the most vulnerable first, as they present the easiest target and kids, especially boys at that age get rather cocky, something most minorities learn as little kids to avoid when being confronted by uniforms with guns at their sides, if not in your face already.
