A group of supposed Israeli spies went on trial in Iran on Saturday. The group led by three people was charged with recruiting 60 Iranians and plotting against the government of the Islamic republic, said a judge as quoted by a local news agency.
The accused allegedly acted against Iran's security, collected information transferring it outside the country and assisting anti-religious establishments, Judge Dadkhoda Salari was quoted on Saturday by the Mehr News Agency as saying.
Salari added that many of those charged confessed during interrogation and many documents testifying to their guilt have been confiscated. The judge provided no further details of the trial.
Meanwhile, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported that Iranian authorizes
arrested four men for planning to sabotage nuclear sites on October 6.
"Four of these individuals were caught red-handed and their interrogations are ongoing," said the head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Akbar Salehi as quoted by the agency.
Salehi did not elaborate on any of the details of the alleged plot and it is not clear whether the arrests are connected with each other.
There have been tensions between the two countries, including disagreements over Iran's nuclear program. Israel together with the US and other Western countries accuse Iran of developing its nuclear technology for military purposes. Iran denies the claims, saying that its uranium enrichment program is being developed for medicine and energy.
Since 2010 there have been a number of assassinations targeting top Iranian scientists and experts in the nuclear and missile fields. Israel's foreign intelligence service Mossad is
believed to be responsible for the attacks in an alleged attempt to stop Iran's nuclear program.
Following the election of the new president Hassan Rouhani in August, the international community has expressed hopes that the Iranian-Israeli relations would enter a new era with a more liberal political mindset as Rouhani pledged to take a "path of moderation."
However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has urged to "awaken from the illusion that has taken hold on some since the elections in Iran."
At the end of September, an Israeli court remanded in custody a Belgian man of Iranian descent, Ali Mansouri, suspected of
spying for the Islamic republic and collecting "intelligence for a possible terror attack."
To stop Iran from revealing the information about the "Western neighbors" where all of these MEK operatives are trained. _[Link] It's no coincidence that it happened at the same time of Netanyahu's visit to the US, and it's certainly no coincidence that just today it was announced that Israel is preparing for conducting another 'chemical attack' drill with 10,000 troops, no less, in Ashkelon, Northern Israel. _[Link]
Now, about the identity of this alleged Iranian spy, Ali Mansouri. First of all, as was well said by James, one of the commenters on RT link, real spies don't cary photographs with them. Second, I just found out several interesting facts that, I think, are really revealing.
"Photographs which the Shin Bet said Mansouri had in his possession, and which it released along with the statement, included one taken of the rooftop of the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv from a nearby high-rise balcony." _[Link]
"Mansouri, 55, who had changed his name to Alex Mans, lived in Iran until 1980 before moving to Turkey until 1997.
"He traveled frequently between Turkey, Iran and Belgium. He allegedly made three trips to Israel in 2012 posing as a businessman selling windows..." _[Link]
And isn't it curious, that in an article on RT [Link]this man is said to be a 55 years old, but on AFP/ Jack Guez photos in the same article, he's 58 years old.
And it's certainly no coincidence that as it says here "Iranian-born Mansouri, who holds a Belgian passport and was traveling under the guise of Belgian Alex Mans, was detained at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion International Airport on September 11, Israel’s Shin Bet security service reported", this blatant provocation and blackmail attempt occurred on September 11.
So, looks like the real perpetrators just can't help themselves. Going on, and on, and on. Why don't you just stop it already!
And if one hears when Netanyahu talks, one can be pretty sure that not one word of truth is coming out of his mouth, only lies. So, when his pointing his crooked finger at Iran accusing it of doing something, he is actually talking about what he and those who keep him company, are doing. Fooling no one!
