Society's Child
There's class warfare in the U.S., but it's nothing to do with social status. Teachers there are walking out in their thousands, demanding better pay and conditions. And as schools see a marked decline in staff and standards, more and more families are taking the concept of homework to its ultimate conclusion, as RT's Marina Portnaya explains.

We leave our children to buildings full of underpaid strangers and wonder what went wrong.
Nothing new though. This article just took a shot at the crumbling education system with news about a labour strike that's over really. All g20 members must continue to reduce health and education funding and increase towards police and prisons. Or they won't get any credit. I don't think rt is really a Russian news agency either, all they really talk about is what's going on with the US
Cheers
As they report, this decline has been going on for 40 years now.
The analysis I subscribe to is the one that traces the influence of materialistic psychology, like behaviorism and the mind-is-brain model, in the subject of education, as it is being taught to teachers and other education "professionals."
That is why a professional family who did NOT get such training, such as the family portrayed in this story, or my sister's family, can do better at educating their kids than trained teachers.
Ivan Illich ("Deschooling Society") was one of many to announce, in the 1970's, that something was going badly wrong with education in America. Yet those writers did not spot the influence of "modern" psychology as the source of the problem.
I believe it is. In societies where that influence is absent or less strong, education is doing better than it is in the US. That the US was particularly targeted to have its education system infiltrated by this anti-life ideology masquerading as "psychology" can be argued. But I think that it clearly was.
Modern psychology is driven by our funding and plays on our old psychology. We Assume as a species-that's why uniforms are worn.
Society asked and challenged many of the changes that have taken place. Not only in education but most every other aspect of life. We are always told it will work out better for us in the end
Nothing weighs less than a promise-
A labour strike by teachers is just that-a labour strike. It's not the same issue as education. Teachers in Ontario currently are having their collective agreement broken and a legislated contract put in place. They are not complaining about the pay. However issues of corruption et al within the boards that have been well publicized have been swept under the rug. Education is the last thing on their minds. Teachers are not allowed to speak of this. If a parent doesn't complain-nothing happens. Most parents of kids in the public system just don't have the time, as long as their kid gets the credit nothing is wrong. It's all a scam. It's old news no one cares about. This article just seems like an anti USA article. Can Russian teachers even strike? The problem is people in charge of the money tell us what to do. Instead of us saying where the money should go. Now their is less money for education-worldwide. Education was put in place in NA to produce people capable of running machines for industry. It was based on the Prussian system of producing soldiers. We have no industry left in NA. Just like it was planned. The modern psychology of today tells us "everyone's a winner!", 4+4 can equal 9 if everyone is happy and people of authority never do anything wrong. It's all based on the security of yesterday. It's all fantasy.
Cause the bank don't take thanks

This is the title of the book the young boy was reading at the very end of this clip.
Strange anyone?
