A Bristol man forced a 14-year-old Stratford girl to call him master and be his slave as he raped her in the backyard of her home last month, police said.

David Feeney, 45, pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Superior Court here to one count each of first-degree sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child. He elected a jury trial.

The case was continued to Sept. 6.

In the arrest affidavit unsealed Tuesday, police state that Feeney initially contacted the girl through an Internet site. The contacts increased to several a day through text messaging and then on the telephone.

Police said in messages and phone calls Feeney ordered the girl to address him as her master and she, who is black, as his slave.

On July 17, police said the girl had been texting Feeney when he showed up in her backyard. When she confronted him, police said Feeney grabbed the girl, cut off her underwear with a pair of scissors and began to choke her with them. Police said Feeney then ordered the girl to call him master as he threw her on the ground and raped her.

Hearing a commotion in the backyard, police continued that the girl's mother came out of the house to see Feeney on top of her daughter. The mother chased Feeney out of the yard and then called police.

Police said they were able to identify Feeney from the cell phone number he had given the victim. However, when they went to arrest him at his home in Bristol they said they learned he had admitted himself to Mount Sinai Hospital as a "sexual deviant." He was subsequently arrested at the hospital.

He is being held in lieu of $750,000 bond.
