Now a report in the UK's "Sun" says that thousands of British women are taking a dangerous group of over-the-coutner treatments that claim to contain chicken plumping chemicals. But as Jezebels' Anna North points out:
Norht's point that the humor in these stories belies a serious problem--in fact, we still live in a world where extraordinary appearance actually affect's women's ability to be successful. Several celebrities, from the skinny Kate Moss to the curvy Kim Kardashian, have leaped to fame partially on the calling carf of their remarkable-looking figures.
While these women seeking implants or weird diet supplements are certainly making a personally risky choice, it's unfortunately the kind of risky choice often rewarded by society.
