While the rain had mostly cleared in Sydney on Sunday morning, Mr Narramore said there could be a few more 'light and isolated' coastal showers
After receiving more than a month's worth of rain in less than one day, Sydneysiders can finally put their umbrellas away and enjoy some sunshine.

However, flood warnings remain in place around the Hunter area, with minor flooding on the Williams River and moderate flooding on the Wollombi Brook River, BOM senior meteorologist Dean Narramore said on Sunday.

Mr Narramore said hazardous surf and beach conditions would also continue until Monday for southern and central coastal areas of NSW.

This comes after rain lashed the state on Saturday, with persistent moderate to heavy rainfall seen over the Sydney and Hunter areas.

Mr Narramore said the heaviest rainfall on Saturday was around Sydney, with 171mm of rainfall in Rose Bay, 159mm in Little Bay and 143mm in the city itself.

29 hikers had to be rescued after becoming stranded on the Zugspitze.
A rescue operation was launched on Saturday, June 1, to evacuate dozens of hikers who found themselves stranded on Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze, due to treacherous weather conditions.

According to the Bavarian Mountain Rescue Service, 29 hikers attempted to scale the 2,962-meter (9,718-foot) peak despite heavy snowfall and poor visibility. At around 2,500 meters (8,202 feet), the hikers could not continue their ascent due to the accumulation of fresh snow, which reached depths of up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) in some areas.

The Mountain Rescue Service, in collaboration with staff from the Zugspitze mountain railway company, mobilized to locate and extract the stranded hikers. The rescue efforts were further complicated by the freezing temperatures, which caused partial icing of the cable car equipment, rendering it inoperable at times.

As severe weather continued Thursday through the Great Plains, residents of a southwest Texas town reported a dramatic temperature drop on Wednesday and hail so deep they had to deploy snow plows to clear the streets.

The temperature in Marathon, Texas, fell more than 50 degrees on Wednesday afternoon as thermometers tumbled from around 105 degrees to the mid-50s in about an hour, Brian Curran, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service Midland, Texas, told ABC News.

Curran attributed the wild decline in temperature to the severe hail storm that hit Marathon.

"It was like an air conditioner," Curran said.

Brad Wilson, chief of the Marathon Fire Department, told ABC News that it was as if conditions turned from summer to winter in an hour.

"There was about two feet of hail on our main street right in the center of town. It looked like snow," Wilson said. "We went out there with a tape measure last night before the road crews came and plowed the roads."

nnnnnnnn
One person was killed and another seriously injured after a severe storm pummeled east Greeley with 2-inch hail and heavy rain Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, flooding homes and businesses and damaging vehicles.

Emergency crews from Greeley, Evans, Windsor and Platte Valley responded to dozens of calls during the night, rescuing people trapped by floodwaters in structures and vehicles during the storm, city spokeswoman Becca Vaclavik wrote in an email.

First responders answered 47 calls for people needing assistance because of the storm and 10 rescues, Vaclavik said.

Vaclavik declined to release additional information about the person who died but confirmed the death and injury were both storm-related.

Tornado strikes Ohio lake, rips up dock and boats on May 17

MMMMMM
A tornado was confirmed in Carroll County, Ohio, after footage caught a tornadic waterspout hitting Leesville Lake.

The tornado only appears as it hits the water, ripping up a dock and sending multiple boats in several different directions. According to the National Weather Service, the tornado was rated an EF0, traveling just a quarter mile with max wind speeds of 80mph.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), two types of water spouts are possible, fair weather water spouts and tornadic waterspout. Tornadic waterspouts have the same characteristics as a normal, land tornado, often moving from land to water or forming over water.

Fair weather waterspouts, unlike their tornadic alternatives, form on the water's surface and build their way upward. These are often formed in light wind conditions and aren't associated with thunderstorms. The video above shows a tornadic water spout.
