Germany's Elites Demand "Location Patriotism" As Green Industrial Policy Unravels

As social glue and as a bond tying the individual to a higher purpose of existence, patriotism has acquired a dubious reputation in Germany after decades of culture war. The United Left has succeeded in amalgamating this binding and integrating cultural ferment with the historical catastrophes of National Socialism, imperialism, and chauvinism, ultimately banishing it from the nation's self-understanding.

Today, the patriot is regarded as a social outsider, a contrarian, an intolerant antagonist of humanistic values.

The mills of that socialist cultural revolution set in motion in the late 1960s have ground with care. A cartel of radical ideologues, opportunistic politicians, a proliferating academic establishment, and the media sector has managed to inject a sufficient dose of poison into the root system of tradition, religion, family, and the bourgeois order. The modern patriot renders himself deeply suspect if he rejects the blessings of cultural relativism and the woke nihilism of our age.

Trump Admin Launches Investigation Into Texas's Muslim-Only Community Project

Department of Housing and Urban Development

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is investigating entities involved in a planned Muslim housing development in Texas due to concerns the initiative may have engaged in discrimination based on religion and nationality, the department said in a Feb. 13 statement.

HUD's probe will look into "The Meadow" project, formally called EPIC City or the East Plano Islamic Center, for potential violations of the Fair Housing Act, according to the department. The Act prohibits direct providers of housing, such as real estate companies, from instituting discriminatory practices that make housing unavailable to people based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or family status.

The department's investigation, conducted by its Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, will cover EPIC Real Properties, Inc., and Community Capital Partners, LP, which are involved in the development program.

According to the department, it has "received a complaint from the Texas Workforce Commission detailing a large-scale pattern of religious discriminatory conduct by the developers of The Meadow."

The protege of Martin Luther King Jr. has passed away at 84.

US civil rights leader and former presidential candidate Jesse L. Jackson died on Tuesday at the age of 84. A protege of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Jackson was with his mentor when he was assassinated in 1968.

Jackson dedicated his life to activism for political and humanitarian causes, including voting rights, healthcare access, and economic and racial equality. His daughter Santita Jackson confirmed he died at his home in Chicago.

The Jackson family, in a statement shared by his Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, said:
"Our father was a servant leader - not only to our family, but to the oppressed, the voiceless, and the overlooked around the world. We shared him with the world, and in return, the world became part of our extended family. His unwavering belief in justice, equality, and love uplifted millions, and we ask you to honor his memory by continuing the fight for the values he lived by."

Comment: Rest in peace Mr. Jackson. You are remembered with honor.

Two bomb attacks and a gunfight between police and militants in northwest Pakistan killed at least 11 security personnel and three civilians, including a child, a security official said.

The separate incidents yesterday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which left at least 25 others wounded, come as Pakistan's security forces battle intensifying insurgencies in southern and northern provinces that border Afghanistan.

This month the so-called Islamic State group claimed responsibility for a massive suicide blast at a Shia mosque in the capital Islamabad that killed at least 31 people, with 169 more wounded.

The security official said that yesterday evening, a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the wall of a religious college in the tribal district of Bajaur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Eight police and Frontier Corps personnel inside were killed and ten other people were injured. "The blast also caused the roofs of several nearby houses to collapse, killing a child," the official said.

The crowdsourcing of cutting waste & fraud

The Trump administration came into office with a pledge to uproot waste, fraud, and abuse within the government's system of transfer payments. Leading the charge would be Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

They began their work early on with earnest and passion, starting inauguration evening, with many long days and nights of data crunching and number slinging, under the assumption that auditing government would be similar to auditing a private company.

DOGE quickly found itself buried and overwhelmed. There were too many programs, too much leakage, no coordination between departments, strange sources of incoming and outgoing payments, shadowy institutions and names flying everywhere, and eye-popping levels of inefficiency. It became obvious that many decades had gone by without any scrupulous concern for how taxpayer dollars were used.

Comment: Among those leading the charge is the immensely talented DataRepublican (small r)
. In addition to her own data crunching, she has released many tools so others can get in on the fun.

Billionaire Tom Pritzker announced on Monday he was retiring as executive chairman of Hyatt Hotels after his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was revealed in the latest release of files by the US Justice Department.

Pritzker, who has been executive chairman since 2004, also said he won't stand for re-election with the company's board.

"Good stewardship also means protecting Hyatt, particularly in the context of my association with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell which I deeply regret," Pritzker, an heir to the Hyatt fortune, said in a statement.

He continued, "I exercised terrible judgment in maintaining contact with them, and there is no excuse for failing to distance myself sooner."

Comment: He is also the cousin to J.B. Pritzker, the governor of Illinois.

Comment: If we don't reopen asylums for these mentally sick individuals, terrible incidents like this will keep occurring. This is the result of our leaders encouraging such behavior. They have blood on their hands.

A twisted trans father shot his wife, three kids and a family friend in the stands at a high school hockey tournament in Rhode Island on Monday — sending the panicked crowd screaming and fleeing for the exits.

Two people were killed and three others are in critical condition at a hospital after the gunfire erupted at Lynch Arena in Pawtucket around 2:30 p.m., according to cops, who described the incident as a targeted family dispute.

The shooter, identified as 56-year-old Robert Dorgan — who also went by Roberta Esposito — died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

Dorgan was the father of a senior at North Providence High School, one of the six schools participating in the co-op games, WPRI reported.

Trump's ICE built a nationwide police alliance right under Democrats' noses

President Donald Trump dramatically expanded a little-known program allowing local law enforcement to assist deportation operations even in liberal states, documents show.

Since 2019, more than 1,350 local agencies have penned agreements with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), including 68 from Democratic states and 88 in swing states, a Daily Caller News Foundation analysis of ICE records found. Liberal activists and officials are coming up with ways to thwart the contracts, known as 287(g) agreements, after Trump's officials gained a foothold for ICE around the country under his first and second terms.

The 287(g) contracts are "the most effective tools [ICE] agents can use to integrate with local and state law enforcement," Chad Wolf, former Department of Homeland Security (DHS) head in Trump's first term, told the DCNF. He now leads homeland security and immigration policy at the America First Policy Institute, a conservative think tank.

New York State Police are investigating an explosion at Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Boonville, New York, that left five people injured Tuesday morning.

Authorities said first responders were dispatched at about 10:23 a.m. after reports of a gas odor inside the church, and witnesses told investigators they smelled gas before the explosion.

Newsweek left voicemail messages with Oneida County Emergency Services, the Abundant Life Fellowship and the Oneida Sheriff's Department for more information on Tuesday.

In a statement to Newsweek, the state police said: "A member of the Boonville Fire Department entered the structure during the response. While inside, an explosion occurred."

Five people were transported to the Wynn Hospital in Utica for treatment, police said.

"Two individuals, a Boonville Firefighter and one civilian, are listed in critical condition. The remaining three individuals are being treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening at this time," police said in a statement.
