Anti-immigration sentiment may prove to be the defining factor in the upcoming general election in Sweden. RT explores why some Swedes believe their country's system of dealing with migrants is broken.

Sweden has long considered itself one of Europe's most tolerant nations. When, three years ago, Europe was hit with a refugee crisis in which over a million undocumented immigrants arrived on the continent from the Middle East and Northern Africa, Sweden's share of arrivals was the highest per capita.

Amid declining profits, the Daesh terrorist organization* has reportedly started to invest in legal businesses to keep on financing its activity, head of the Federal Security Service's (FSB) intelligence information and international relations service, Sergey Beseda, said Monday.

Profits of the Daesh terrorist organization in Russia have gone down 90 percent since 2014 to $200 million - $300 million a year, Beseda said.

"If we compare those financial receipts that were in 2014 and were estimated at about $3 billion, then now ISIL [Daesh] militants manage to get $200-300 million a year," Beseda said at an international conference on efforts to counter illegal arms supply in the context of the fight against international terrorism.

He said the Daesh started investing money in legal businesses to finance its further activity.

Comment: Looks like the terrorists' sponsors are pulling back on a bad gamble. Without being able to sell stolen Syrian oil and Western backing in general, they can't make it on their own.

'Deal of the Day': White House coin marks Trump-Putin Helsinki summit as 'historic moment'

Although US President Donald Trump has come under fire for daring to have a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the White House is making no apologies. It's even released a commemorative coin marking the event.

The "Kremlin Summit in Helsinki" coin has been listed on the White House gift shop website for $100. However it can be purchased as a 'Deal of the Day' for $49.

The coin is part of the "Historic Moments" series, which is misspelled as "Historic Momements" on the official White House website. The series will "chronicle in coin and ornamental art the entire presidency of President Donald J. Trump in world historic acts of leadership."

But anyone looking to purchase the coin immediately will have to just hope it turns out to be 'big and beautiful,' as the White House website merely says "photo coming soon."

Minnesota police briefly arrested the CEO of e-commerce giant JD.com, and one of China's richest men, on suspicion of sexual misconduct. The businessman has been released pending complaint.

Liu Qiangdong, founder and CEO of JD.com, an online shopping site that has drawn investments from Google and Walmart, was arrested by Minneapolis police on Friday about midnight and released the next afternoon. The billionaire has been dubbed the "Jeff Bezos of China" and has been a prime challenger to Jack Ma's Alibaba e-commerce empire.

No complaint has been filed against Liu, who goes by the Americanized name of Richard in the US. As grounds for his arrest, Hennepin County records list "probable cause," which is American legal speak for a "reasonable" amount of suspicion that the allegations are probably true - but not in itself enough for a criminal conviction.

Grooming gangs: 'Cultural drivers' to be probed in new child exploitation inquiry, says Sajid Javid

Sajid Javid is to launch an inquiry into "cultural drivers" behind grooming gangs. The home secretary referenced cases in Rotherham, Rochdale, Oxford, Newcastle and Telford in his speech on child exploitation in Britain.

"We've witnessed horrendous abuse perpetrated by gangs who have been persistent and determined in places like Rotherham, Rochdale, Oxford, Newcastle and Telford," said Javid speaking at the headquarters of the NSPCC in London.

"Keeping our children safe will be my mission as home secretary. I have already been clear that I will ask difficult questions about the gangs who sexually abuse our children. There will be no no-go areas of inquiry. I will not let cultural or political sensitivities get in the way of understanding the problem and doing something about it.

"We know that in these recent high-profile cases, where people have been convicted, that those people are disproportionately from a Pakistani background. I have instructed my officials to explore the particular context and characteristics of these types of gangs and if the evidence suggests that there are cultural factors that may be driving this type of offending, then I will take action."

Malaysia: Sharia High Court sentences two women to six lashes for 'attempting lesbian sex'

Two women have been caned in Malaysia after being found guilty of attempting to have sex with each other in what is said to be the first case of such a punishment imposed on women for being lesbians.

The public caning took place in the conservative state of Terengganu in the northeast of the country on Monday. The women were caned six times each in the Sharia High Court in front of around 100 people.

The women, aged 22 and 32, were caught attempting to engage in sexual acts in a car in a public square in April. They pled guilty to committing 'musahaqah', meaning sexual relations between women, in August and were sentenced to six lashings and a 3,300 Malaysian Ringgit (US$799) fine.

While Malaysian women have been caned for adultery in the past, this is the first case of caning over sexuality. It is also the first time a public caning has occurred in the state, a member of the state executive told Reuters. "The reason it is carried out in public is for it to serve as a lesson to society," Satiful Bahri Mamat said.

San Diego police officers shot a man who pulled a gun and started firing into the air when he found out that evening's Ice Cube Concert was sold out. The sound of shots sparked panic.

Ice Cube, who once rapped "shotgun bullets is bad for yo' health," was due to perform at San Diego's Del Mar Racecourse on Sunday. As crowds gathered, the racecourse tweeted just after 6.30pm that tickets were completely sold out. On hearing the news, one die-hard fan got into an argument with staff at the box office, pulled out a handgun and began squeezing off shots into the air.

As the crowd panicked and fled, nearby deputies shot the man, leaving him lying on the sidewalk. The man, identified as 22-year-old Daniel Elizarraras, was taken to hospital and is expected to survive, the San Diego Sheriff's Department stated.
