Rock and a hard place: Southwest CEO says he never wanted a Covid vaccine mandate, Biden 'forced his hand'

Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly
Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly told CNBC on Tuesday he believes businesses should not impose Covid vaccine mandates on their employees, but he said his company is doing so to comply with federal rules put in place by the Biden administration.

"I've never been in favor of corporations imposing that kind of a mandate. I'm not in favor of that. Never have been," Kelly said in an interview on Squawk on the Street. "But the executive order from President Biden mandates that all federal employees and then all federal contractors, which covers all the major airlines, have to have a [vaccine] mandate ... in place by Dec. 8, so we're working through that."

Comment: Even though Southwest's pilots are loyal to the company, they are in the right to put their own health first:

Commercial airline pilot Shawn Walker: "My health and my medical choice is more important to me than my career at this point," he emphasised, warning that mandating vaccines for airline staff is only the beginning.
Some are pointing to the more dire consequences of pilots who might suffer from the vaccine's side effects while working:

Indeed Stew Peters has reported on a Delta pilot who died in-flight days after receiving the booster, which was subsequently hushed up.
During an interview with Stew Peters, Dr Jane Ruby provided breaking information, corroborated by multiple sources, that a vaxxed Delta Airlines pilot died in flight within the last two weeks, an emergency landing was forced, and the company is covering it up!
Of course, the mainstream media went full-tilt debunking the story. CNN led the way:
Delta (DAL) said no such thing happened. Mid-flight deaths are rare and airlines are legally required to report them publicly. The allegation was aired Monday on The Stew Peters Show podcast.

"All of these allegations are false," said Delta. "The pandemic has been an incredibly tragic time for many, and our hearts go out to the hundreds of thousands of families of those who have passed away from the horrific virus."

Ireland's Mica scandal: Thousands of owners of crumbling homes protest in Dublin seeking full compensation

Thousands of homeowners in Ireland marched on Dublin demanding 100% redress from the government for crumbling houses.
Thousands of homeowners across Ireland marched on Dublin on Friday demanding 100% redress for homes affected by what has been dubbed "the Mica scandal".

The protesters are calling for the government to compensate the full cost attached to rebuilding their homes which have been affected by defective building blocks.

The Mica scandal, named after the mineral in the bricks that absorbs water and causes walls to crack and crumble, is estimated to have affected more than 20,000 homes.

Comment: Increasingly, in much of 'the developed world', the housing on offer is substandard, sometimes dangerous, and those who are lucky enough to have a mortgage will be paying it off for life, whilst the rest, which is becoming the majority, face a landlord that is actually some tax dodging megacorporation:

Apple poised to slash IPhone production goal

Apple Inc. is likely to slash its projected iPhone 13 production targets for 2021 by as many as 10 million units as prolonged chip shortages hit its flagship product, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

The company had expected to produce 90 million new iPhone models in the last three months of the year, but it's now telling manufacturing partners that the total will be lower because Broadcom Inc. and Texas Instruments Inc. are struggling to deliver enough components, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the situation is private.

CNN ripped for 'dystopian' report referring to pre-Covid era as 'the Before Times'

Workers, city leaders and labor advocates gather outside a North Long Beach Food 4 Less in February to condemn grocery giant Kroger for closing two stores in response to new rules awarding a pandemic pay bump to grocery workers.
CNN has sparked debate after referring to the "Before Times" - meaning pre-Covd-19 pandemic - with some accusing the network of creating fear on purpose with its "dystopian" language.

The report in question warned grocery shelves "are not going back to normal this year" after over a year of issues including labor shortages and transport restrictions.

Rice Krispies Treats, Sour Patch Kids, some Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavors, McCormick gourmet spices, and Marie Callender's pot pies are all items that could be in limited supply, according to emails seen by CNN, which were sent from the companies behind the products to grocery chains across the country.

Comment: CNN is correct, in that there ARE supply chain issues which are even more severe than they are reporting. BUT the fear-mongering twist they are putting in it is unconscionable. There are plenty of goods to be had. The problem lies in getting them where they are needed. CNN conveniently omits the fact that Covid restrictions and vaccine mandates are a large part of the problem.

UK's conspiracy-loving spies: Russia STOLE formula for Sputnik V Covid-19 jab. Moscow: 'Seek help'

We're a year and a half in and public interest is waning in the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, you can probably forgive Britain's best-selling newspaper, The Sun, for trying to inject a little bit of excitement back into the narrative.

Russia, of course, is always around to play the villain. In a bombshell set of re-hashed revelations published on Monday, the tabloid alleges that Moscow's flagship Covid-19 vaccine, Sputnik V, wasn't made in a lab by a team of world-leading scientists, but was actually inspired by secret documents nicked from a British research institute.

According to veteran snooper and Westminster character Harry Cole, "security services say they have proof one of Russian President Vladimir Putin's spies swiped the vital data" behind AstraZeneca's formula. Adding intrigue to the Cold War-era espionage story, British spooks apparently told Cole that "it is understood the data was stolen by a foreign agent in person."

Comment: The Express had the grace to at least "correct" such an outlandish story. The Sun is still holding out:
An article published on October 11, 2021, falsely implied that "Russia had reportedly copied the formula of the AstraZeneca jab and used it to help make its own vaccine, according to new reports".

However, it has come to our attention that this was false as the information about inventor of the Sputnik V vaccine - Gamaleya National Research Centre for Epidemiology and Microbiology) - is publicly known.

The article also contained false information. As an apology, we are happy to set the record straight and publish the following statement from the Russian Direct Investment Fund.
"Sputnik V is based on a well-studied human adenoviral platform whose efficacy and safety have been proven over decades. Developers of Sputnik V, the Gamaleya Center, used the same human adenoviral platform for their earlier groundbreaking research over the years, including vaccines against Ebola in 2017 and MERS in 2019, to quickly develop Russia's vaccine against COVID-19.

"In contrast, AstraZeneca uses chimpanzee adenoviral vector for its vaccine rather than the human vector used by Sputnik V.

"In addition, the Russian vaccine is unique among all vaccines against Covid in using heterogenous boosting (two different vectors, Ad26 and Ad5, for the two shots to achieve stronger and longer-lasting immunity) or mix-and-match combo approach, while AstraZeneca uses one and the same vector twice.

"Unlike for some other vaccines in use today, Sputnik V has excellent safety profile with very few serious adverse events reported vs other vaccines and no cases of myocarditis or cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT).

"It is also important to note that the Sputnik V team and AstraZeneca are conducting joint clinical trials in partnership on the combo use of the two vaccines and have released information on safety and efficacy. That offer was extended to AstraZeneca last November to help it boost its efficacy and launched the world's first mix-and-match trials of anti-Covid vaccines.

"Rather than spreading fake stories, the UK media and Government services should better protect the reputation of AstraZeneca, a safe and efficient vaccine that is constantly attacked by competitors in the media with facts taken out of context."

Russia marks record decline of nearly 1 million population over past year

Russia has faced a festering demographic crisis for years
Russia's natural population underwent its largest peacetime decline in recorded history over the last 12 months, an analysis of official government statistics has shown.

Russia's natural population — a figure which counts registered deaths and births, excluding the effects of migration — declined by 997,000 between October 2020 and September 2021, demographer Alexei Raksha calculated.

Comment: Perhaps unsurprisingly, much of the developed world saw birthrates plummet amidst the last 19+ months of tyrannical lockdowns: US birth rate falls across the board, lowest in more than a century

The stark drop comes as Russia, which has one of the world's highest Covid-19 death tolls, continues to see record numbers of lives lost to the pandemic. The country has recorded at least 660,000 excess deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Comment: Lockdowns caused increased mortality across the planet, but it would be interesting to see a breakdown of this data which is not provided in the article.

Comment: Poland and Hungary have also rejected pressure to enforce the West's warped LGBT propaganda program, and for good reason:

Superman goes superwoke: DC Comics announces new superman is LGBT

Even Superman — the world's strongest superhero — is unable to withstand the woke mob's efforts to rebrand every facet of society with progressive values.

DC Comics announced Monday that Clark Kent's son and super-heroic heir, Jon Kent, will soon "take a bold new direction" by coming out as bisexual after falling in love with a male friend.

"The same-sex relationship is just one of the ways" he is "proving to be a different Superman than his famous father," the New York Times added in a glowing write-up about the comic series, "Superman: Son of Kal-El."

Comment: No superhero is safe from the woke mob.

A vaccination centre sign directs the public during a lockdown to curb the spread of a coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak in Auckland, New Zealand, August 26, 2021
New Zealand expects to administer a record 100,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses in a single day during a mass immunisation drive on Oct. 16, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said, as she seeks to accelerate inoculations before easing curbs in Auckland.

Ardern on Tuesday urged the country's population over 12 years of age "to roll up sleeves for New Zealand and help make us (one of) the most vaccinated and therefore protected countries in the world". Some 2.44 million, or 58% of the population over 12, have been fully vaccinated so far.

"There is nothing stopping us other than people (not) showing up," Ardern said during a media briefing in Wellington.

Smoke billows from a thermal power plant near Chennai. States across India have issued panicked warnings that coal supplies to thermal power plants are running perilously low.
India is facing a looming power crisis, as stocks of coal in power plants have fallen to unprecedentedly low levels and states are warning of power blackouts.

States across India have issued panicked warnings that coal supplies to thermal power plants, which convert heat from coal to electricity, are running perilously low.

According to data from the Central Electricity Authority of India, nearly 80% of the country's coal-fired plants were in the critical, or "supercritical" stage, meaning their stocks could run out in less than five days.

Over the weekend, Delhi's chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, wrote to the prime minister, Narendra Modi, that the capital "could face a blackout" if power stations did not receive more coal.

States including Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Bihar have been experiencing power cuts lasting up to 14 hours.

Maharashtra shut down 13 thermal power plants and urged people to use electricity sparingly, and in Punjab three power plants halted production. Scheduled power cuts introduced in Punjab, lasting up to six hours at a time, have prompted protests.

However, experts have emphasised that the power issues are not due to a shortage of domestic coal production, as some have reported.

When it comes to actions taken to address the Covid-19 threat, hindsight is still very much underway. For your consideration: a story and outcome you probably aren't hearing much about anywhere else. It takes place in the heart of Amish country.

Lancaster County, Pennsylvania: thousands of families lead lives largely separate from modern America.

The Amish are a Christian group that emphasizes the virtuous over the superficial. They don't usually drive, use electricity, or have TVs. And during the Covid-19 outbreak, they became subjects in a massive social and medical experiment.
