The Fulton County case began to unravel when District Attorney Fani Willis, an elected Democrat, was exposed for having a secret relationship with attorney Nathan Wade, whom she hired to prosecute the then-ex-president.
That case was one of four lodged against Trump after he declared his intention to seek a non-consecutive second term in the White House.

Trump alleges that the cases amounted to "lawfare" by Democrats to derail his political movement.
