JayCee Cooper, a transgender athlete, won a discrimination case against USA Powerlifting this week after the federation banned her from competing in female events.
With Cooper's victory comes a mandate the federation "cease and desist from all unfair discriminatory practices" because of sexual orientation and gender identity.
The organization must revise its policy related to those issues within two weeks, meaning trans athletes will be able to compete in the women's category after previously being banned.
Cooper filed a complaint in 2019 with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights, alleging the organization violated the state's Human Rights Act by banning her and other trans athletes from competing in female competitions.
She then filed a lawsuit against USA Powerlifitng in state court in 2021.
"I was fed up with the way that I was being treated; I was fed up with the way that my community was being treated, and enough was enough," Cooper told KARE-TV.
"I feel mostly relief. I think we needed a win here, and it feels good to get that."
"The harm is in making a person pretend to be something different, the implicit message being that who they are is less than," the ruling said. "That is the very essence of separation and segregation, and it is what the MHRA prohibits."
USA Powerlifting will consider an appeal.
"Our position has been aimed at balancing the needs of cis- and transgender women whose capacities differ significantly in purely strength sports," USA Powerlifting President Larry Maile said in a statement.
However, the court cited "increased risk of depression and suicide, lack of access to coaching and practice facilities, or other performance suppression common to transgender persons," as competitive disadvantages for transgender competitors.
According to Open Powerlifting, Cooper last competed at the 2022 AMP Classic Open Nationals in Texas, where she finished in third place out of three competitors in her division.
Cooper twice competed against a lone competitor — Rebecca Richnofsky — in the women's raw 198+ open category in 2019, winning both times. In the 2019 USPA National Championships, she finished in fourth out of four competitors in that category.

That said, if one was a small, slight male then it's at least possible to ask if it might be alright to compete; level playing field and all.
You can't win anything if you are not prepared to sacrifice something.
The fact that this is actually occurring AND that there are actually people who think that it is in any way acceptable shows that western civilization has been directed down an alley with a dead end wall at high speed. The front bumper is about to make contact. Buckle up.
The only actual human right you have, is to be born once conceived. Any other rights are bestowed upon you by goverment. Ironically even though birth is the one human right, IT'S not considered one.
The world is beyond sick.
Think of this:
If it makes a person happy to murder or rape, plunder or pillage, is it their human right to do such activities?
The pursuit of happiness is much too subjective of a right to be a human right.
I will never willingly bend a knee to evil and tyrannyI agree. Myself as well.
That is too subjective of a statement though. Those in charge most likely think they are on a holy crusade of some sort, thus their evil and tyranny would be their human right if it makes them feel validated and fulfilled if pursuit of happiness was truly a human right..
I draw the line with subjectivity personally.
You are conceived with the right to be born. The rest is all politics.
The government does not give me my rights: to liveYes, but they do have the death penalty in many places. If they frame you for a death penalty and execute you,
they just rescinded that right, the right to live.
Natural rights, conferred by natural law, are universal ethical rules developed over thousands of years and are to be found in the commandments of all large religions. (You shall not kill, steal, covet your neighbor’s house, use violence or offer violence against any other person except in self-defense etc.)
The right to life is the source of all rights — and the right to property is their only implementation. Without property rights, no other rights are possible.
To be clear, there is only one fundamental right (all the others are its consequences or corollaries) — a man’s right to his own life. For example, the right to self-defense means one has the right to protect the property that is one's body.
Natural rights are unalienable. "Rights" that are granted by government and rescinded by government are not rights at all, but are privileges.
A privilege is granted by some authority, and equally it can be taken away by some authority.
Quite simply, a live human being possesses natural rights.
Modern Liberals believe government to be absolutely necessary in order to regulate human behavior and redistribute wealth to achieve a more 'socially just' and equitable society. Philosophically, Modern Liberals believe that it is compassion or pity for the suffering of his fellow creatures that places a limit upon the natural liberty of man. (Here you can see the philosophical basis of the 'bleeding heart liberal.')
Anarchists argue that for most of history human beings have organized themselves in society without government and man-made law in a peaceful and productive way. Anarchists thus see society as the natural condition of human beings which brings out the best in them. They consider society to be a self-regulating order which develops best when least interfered with. Anarchists thus believe that political institutions are both irrational and unnatural and prevent an orderly social life.
Anarchists understand that forcibly dominating others is not legitimate, even when it is called 'law,' or even when it is done in the name of 'the people' or 'the common good.'
Maxx Paine To be clear, there is only one fundamental right (all the others are its consequences or corollaries) — a man’s right to his own life.that is what i was saying in a nutshell. I was just pointing out that the pursuit of happiness is too subjective and anything that comes after being born is subject to being taken away by governments.
They are rights one should have, but they aren't necessarily inalienable, they are alienated quite often.
Somebody put something in the water and its robbing people of their humanity, or at least their grasp on reality.
So, they are just 'pussies' then. They have too much fear to compete with real men.
Reminds me of this joke...

They won't quit because no one is forcing them to quit. It seems that all those people, who were harmed and had some family members even die from the jab, are ok with the genocide.
