Animals froze in place, standing, sometimes while walking, due to a rapid drop in temperatures.

As mentioned on a previous post, this incursion of cold air was known about, I mentioned it, where were the authorities?

Sadly lacking in their duties to Inform and protect their people and life stock.

This is a sustained event, the cold air will travel into Africa.

Update: well, we're finally getting some here but nothing like everyone else of course. We've got three days of cold drizzle with a stalled front hanging over us starting last night. They've forecast 31f for tomorrow night, but I still don't think we'll get that freeze even then.

Winternights3 - I see a low just south of New Orleans and some other lows nearby and it could be they work symbiotically in a way that results in strengthening one of the lows resulting in quite a potential weather event with wind and such. But, it might not occur that way. I really enjoy the "Windstream" feature at this site which has been very erratic lately. [Link]
Just like the "Numbermatics" site I linked to previously - which now is giving me a warning. I know what that means - I've been through this sort of harassment many times and I've sharpened the tools I have when it comes to response.

Could be a fun weather weekend on the horizon.

Buffalo_Ken There's a plume of cold air centered to the east of the Hudson Bay in Canada, that is descending through the Eastern / Central belt of America and will be slow moving.

At 500hpa, America is one GIANT jetstream moving top to bottom and West to East.

It's fair to say there's some heavy snowfall due and for a few ands too, but central Europe will be hit far worse.

WN3 - please say it isn't so. Central Europe does not deserve further pain. They have had more than their fair share.

A snowstorm is one thing, a war with weapons another thing completely.....so thank-you for bearing my rambling.

Central Europe does not deserve nor do the folks living there desire any kind of effing "weapon-war" being

considered and facilitated by a few who have lost touch with their own humanity and the rest of us in general.

They MUST be stopped in their tracks.

The cold air at 500hpa has now reached Egypt @ -33c , it will continue to travel South into Africa but as mentioned, Europe is in for a rough time 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶

LindaMay In all seriousness, be safe and stay warm, the cold air will continue to arrive north of Scotland and rapidly sink repeatedly through Europe.

This pattern is set to continue until Mid February, then there's a remote possibility that a Monster depression will BOLLOCKS the UK before heading into central Europe causing hoac.

Animals need shelter just like humans.

Oh, well. Frozen carcass.

Might as well get the meat and maybe "fur" from it cause I reckon it is still preserved and of value.

But if the numbers dwindle, then less little ones being born and then that spells trouble from a sustainability standpoint.

Rowan Cocoan - I checked and it wasn't the boobtube, so I watched and all I have to say is this: Effing stupid plow driver. Whoever did that needs to be fired and if this was not against protocol, then the whole agency needs to be dismissed permanently. Sort of like the CDC, FDA, and few more of them thar gubment acronym agencies....CIA....FBI.....good riddance I'm hoping....FED - your numbers are up. Too much debt kills everything.
