Athens, Greece: Restaurants in shut their doors in protest over restrictive covid measures

Cafes, restaurants and bars have declared a strike on Tuesday in protest at measures aimed at curbing rising coronavirus infections.

Representatives of the country's restaurateurs will also be meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Athens to deliver a petition calling for the measures to be lifted.

Catering professionals say that business has dropped and jobs are at risk since restrictions were introduced earlier this month demanding that customers without a Covid vaccination or recovery certificate show a negative rapid or PCR test to be served. This also applies to hair salons and retail stores, with the exception of pharmacies, supermarkets and other food stores, while new restrictions have also been introduced on the number of customers per square meter.

The sector has also taken umbrage with the fact that similar restrictions have not been imposed for churches, sports stadiums and public transportation.

My wife and I got kicked out, of all places McDonalds (haven’t eaten in one for 10 yrs), on a road trip stopped for gas and it was there so we decided to try it, dine-in. They actually bring your food to the table (at least in this one) when they did, they asked for a negative test or proof of jab to dine-in, we don’t have either. My wife had an instant attitude to the waiter which about pissed his pants, which prompted the manager to come. He explained their policy (which is in lock step with TPTB, no surprise there) so my wife asked him to show his proof, he got all excited and was really happy to pull out his phone and show us his gestapo document. I then asked him if he ever had aids, hiv or any STD’s he replied “that’s none of your business” and of course I replied “ yeah same as my health status” then I had to abuse him and tell him all the soy he was raised on wasn’t good for him, so he threatened to call reinforcement (popo) . We didn’t have time for that so my wife told him to bag it and we would go! The look of relief on that stay puffs face was priceless along with most of the stupid fucks eating there, they all looked like scared as hell sheeple, which they were.
