I think people are greedy...relentless consuming. I do truly believe we need far less of everything.
A small plate, if again filled to the brim is just plain less food. it also takes some self control so one doesn't refill the plate... but then, some self control in the first place and a decision to eat less and and not "all you can eat" works as well.
I had a brother visit over the last couple of days, at one meal I and my wife had two smaller pieces of chicken each and a few chips. I felt I had over eaten, but it was my birthday... He on the other hand ate 4 pieces of chicken, a full carton of chips and a 1/2 container of mash and gravy, then ate a chicken burger... I sat there astounded at the gluttony.
It's not the plate size that has to change, it is the mind that has to change.
If you think at any time that you can "TRICK" your own mind into eating less, your a fool.
Just eat less. really.
