The public perception at the start of WW1 was that it would all be over by Christmas. Now we see a superpower well equipped with brains, brawn and an exotic arsenal of artillery which they are constantly boasting about, fighting a bunch of barbaric brigands. Yet 14 months in to their involvement they still can't find resolution. This makes a mockery of any ability Russia might have in fighting a larger war. Maybe Russia should pack up, reconsolidate, learn, rethink and leave the mess behind for Arabs to resolve before becoming involved in a larger conflict.
