Two officers were reported injured, one struck by a car and another by gunfire, after they responded to reports of a suspect shooting at passing cars in Linden, a city just south of Elizabeth.
Police said the suspect was detained. Sources told NBC News the suspect was identified as Rahami, a 28-year-old Elizabeth, NJ resident suspected in a series of explosions in New Jersey and New York over the weekend.
Officers also found a "suspicious package." The bomb squad and explosive-sniffing dogs have been called in.

This stinks. This guy who is accused of two bombings plus randomly shooting at people has been taken alive after a gunfight with police.
This stinks because Eric Garner, Freddy Gray, Tamir Rice, et al. Because you have a better chance of being killed by a bee sting, or a home repair accident than you do a terrorist. And you are 29 times more likely to be murdered by a cop than a terrorist!
