All political thinking for years past has been vitiated in the same way. People can foresee the future only when it coincides with their own wishes, and the most grossly obvious facts can be ignored when they are unwelcome.
If only the "65%" could experience some of the horrors of the past, or fully comprehend the planetary nightmare of a nuclear superpower...

Informative article but it could say more about LNG politics and supply because so much can change in todays volatile politcal climate. Most of the LNG making its way to Europe and Asia today comes from Quatar [Link] the U.S. [Link] [Link] and Australia [Link] Only recently has the U.S. allowed export of hydrocarbons but that change came about with the 'shale gas' and 'fracking' revolution in N. America.
It is interesting to see the anticipated increases in demand quoted by Europe and Asia over the next ten years. Those numbers appear larger than what would be required for population increases which leads me to believe that despite the 'global warming' scare mongering, most governments know that a cold spell is on the way. Now the shale gas revolution in Great Britain appears logical, but remains suicidal.
