The center of the earthquake appears to be just off the coastline of Turkey, South to SSW from Antalya. The quake was felt as far away as Egypt where the tremors also reached 5.8 on the Richter Scale. Cyprus, which is 195 miles away from the quake's center also reported 5.8 scale tremors.
Egypt, which is 695 miles away, reported the same Richter Scale measurement at the same time that the report was received from Turkey. At this point no damage reports from any of the countries have been made public.

The quake struck 100 km. from land in Antalya bay area. It was reported to be 6.0 (preliminary) on the Richter scale by KANDILLI OBSERVATORY AND EARTHQUAKE RESEARCH INSTITUTE (KOERI). No fatalities reported thus far. Aftershocks continue. There were foreshocks in the mediterranean sea and the aegean sea. There can be other big or medium quakes in the near future. Also there is an undersea volcano 200 km. off the coast of Muğla (South West of Turkey).
Queerly the recent political bribes and corruption uncovered was also named "earthquake". 4,5 million dollars were found inside shoe boxes at the home of the CEO of a national bank who was arrested together with the sons of two former ministers. The total sum of the corruption is said to be at least 87 billion euros. The government is trying to cover up the whole case by accusing foreign forces including the usa.
