
Theodore and Conder were lashed by extreme weather from about 7pm, including high winds, rain and large hail.

One Canberran posted about his experience on the social networking site Twitter. ''Massive hailstorm in #Conder, #Canberra. Damage and leaks everywhere. Power out.'' Territory and Municipal Services warned residents to be careful on the roads because of fallen debris.
The Bureau of Meteorology had issued a severe storm warning for the region, but eased it later in the evening, about 8pm.
