I would say that there is a good possibility that there is some truth in this story. The emir is working with the Israelis and the western powers to bring down the Syrian government and has never voiced support of the Palestinians before as far as I remember. Did he speak out about the murder of Arafat or the illegal and inhumane invasion of Gaza in 2009? Or the countless attacks of Palestine? I don't think so. A simple Google search comes up empty handed.
