Fake sharks in flooded NYC and New Jersey

Those 'sharks in the streets after Hurricane Sandy' pictures that have been doing the rounds. They're faked. Be careful what you believe. Some people seem very willing to over-indulge their emotions over 'Sandy' and then soft-sell it back to themselves as showing concern or empathy for the victims. Indulging your emotions and falling for emotional hooks during a time of crisis helps no one.

Things get moved around in a hurricane.

Seawater breached the banks of NJ and NYC, during a storm that passed through tropical seas, so I don't see why anyone finds this implausible. Things get rearranged and seriously lost during a hurricane. Case in point: about 15 years ago, I saw a Pelican in rural eastern Ontario, Canada, after the remnants of a hurricane passed through. Definitely not where it should have been, and whisked away to the land of Oz, from its point of view.

Alligators

We had alligators wash up to us a whole state away from Louisiana after Katrina. They either try and migrate back down or die when it freezes. But it was over an 8 hour drive from their normal territory. You never see alligators this far up from the Gulf. So yes, this sort of thing is very possible. Call up a 1,000 pictures of sharks and they'll all look very similar.

True but not THAT similar.

If the first pic was real, that shark would be halfway out of the water. (Ignoring the identical splash trail.)

In the last pic, where's that car at? Floating on 10 feet of water?

No doubt sharks can get swept in, but not the big boys. From experience, when a hurricane is near, the big sharks head out tto deeper water while the crabs scramble across the dunes. Also, Gators can crawl. Sharks can't.

No these are not sharks.

These only look like sharks. These are Wall Street bankers navigating back to their homes using the only means of transportation available under the circumstances.
