This occurred in the "Lower Valley" which is south-central Washington, a little south of Yakima which is a little south of Ellensburg.
Also, no one has bothered to ask: Where is the dust coming from? That land is supposed to be agricultural, not arid. The dust must be coming from dry agricultural land (bad thing) or from bare lands caused by forest burn off (little less bad).
The only interest seemed to be with people getting hurt on the highway. Well, that's a shame. But locals say that dust storms in this area are not uncommon.
