Cheney was set to appear at an event in Toronto on April 24, but canceled on grounds that the risk of trouble from protesters was too great.
Cheney's last Canadian appearance in September of 2011 erupted in violence as protesters swarmed the entrance of the private Vancouver club where the former Bush administration official and Iraq War architect was speaking. The protesters rained down verbal abuse on attendees and, in once instance, choked a security guard.
Vice President Cheney was trapped inside the venue for more than seven hours as police in riot gear attempted to disperse the crowd and quell to the resulting melee.
Ryan Riggins, a spokesperson for the promotions company who booked Cheney for the April 24 appearance said, "He felt that in Canada the risk of violent protest was simply too high."

How do people like Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, etc actually have venues to speak? First of all, why are they speaking? Second of all, why the hell would they speak? They have done nothing in there careers but prove that they are efficient at ruining lives and being terrible people. So who are these mystery human beings that actually want to hear these mother fuckers speak? Who the hell is it thats actually giving these men money for standing in front of people with there opinions? Who are these mystery people who actually planned to go and went to these function, to LISTEN to him speak? WHO? These attendees and supporters are the epidemy of ignorance in humans. They are so far removed from the truth of who these people are, they actually help them, and pay to see them, or attend because someone else paid for them. They ACTUALLY spend time listening to these men like they are worth listening to more than an average 3rd grader for the same length of time. The amount of ignorance by those people who think they have any idea about any thing specifically because they are rich is staggering more than anything in this article. Look what money does. People actually think they are intelligent simply by having it. Oh ignorance. You sure are proficient in showing those of us with common sense how ignorant and dillusional people can willfully be if they have some obsolete piece of paper. I don't know how the hell this guy gives any speech anywhere in the United States without the exact same reaction. Wake up.
