"A terrorist group has targeted a gas pipeline near Rastan," said SANA news agency.
The attack comes in the wake of a similar incident in the same location last week.
Several gas pipelines have been targeted in the volatile state over the past months during the unrest that hit the Middle Eastern country.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011, with demonstrations being held both against and in favor of President Bashar al-Assad.
Hundreds of people including Syrian security forces have been killed in the turmoil.
While the West and the Syrian opposition accuse the Syrian government of the killings, Damascus blames ''outlaws, saboteurs and armed terrorist groups'' for the unrest, insisting that it is being orchestrated from abroad.
In interviews with Israeli news outlets over the past few months, the Syrian opposition members have clearly expressed their vision for the future of Syria and their interest in establishing relations with the Tel Aviv regime.
