Candace Gingrich, Newt's half sister, appeared on The Rachel Maddow Show last night to discuss her brother's campaign. Candace, an out-of-the-closet lesbian, has publicly clashed with her famous sibling over gay marriage and other issues.
As part of his stance against same-sex marriage, Newt Gingrich has stated that were his sister to marry, he would not attend the wedding, which he did not. Candace announces in this clip, embedded via MSNBC, that were her brother to seize the Republican nomination, she would vote for Obama.

The institution of marriage is mostly a failure in this day and age of 7 billion people. Why would a gay person want to commit to something that does not work well with straight people? The first seven years always seem to go well with married couples but then, something happens...something sad. Where did this institution come from anyway? Perhaps married couples need to renew vows every 7 years by law and they are not allowed to have children until their second commitment. I do not think I have ever met a happy long term marriage. I just see misery an pretense.
