Jakarta -- An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale shook eastern Indonesian province of Maluku on Thursday morning, there was no casualties and material losses.

The epicenter of the quake which struck at 07:31 a.m. local time was in the sea about 230 km northwest of the provincial capital Ambon at a depth of 37 km, Antara news agency quoted Head of the Ambon Geophysics Station Benny Sipolo as saying.
