The 'UFO' which was spotted in Derry |
Michael Harkin from Galliagh got in contact by email this week with this startling photograph which appears to show a suspected UFO in the Prehen area of Derry.
He writes - "I am writing to see if you would be interested in a picture which was taken on my mobile phone yesterday (Tuesday, 6/5/08). It was taken from a car while travelling to Prehen in Derry. I realised that there seemed to be an unusual object in the sky and decided to take a picture. On examination it seems to be a saucer-like object flying flying not far above houses on the Prehen Road." He wonders if anyone else saw it? Perhaps there was one of those master chefs in the vicinity...

Not sure about that - the positioning against the edge of the car window means we can't really see what it is - it could be a weird angle on a street lamp or something.
If it were that big and low, I find it hard to believe that he would phrase it like this, "I realised that there seemed to be an unusual object in the sky and decided to take a picture." - seemed to be?
No way to tell for sure at this point, maybe it is a saucer, but I'd put this one in the 'highly suspect' file at this point.
Looks suspiciously like a street light.
since its in shadow. Whole UFO object doesn't seem to match whole picture contrast at all.
May be metallic spoons held just outside of car window. Clue: UFOs belly on the opposite side of its shiny UFO top should be much darker. It seems picking up reflected light from cars metallic side.
Distance mismatch: If the UFO hovers over the trees or farther it should be smaller. Its positioning is off.
Edited picture clues: large pixelous blocks appear where sunshine is 'coming down' from sky almost directly above could have been painted in on, also onto UFO and the car, because shadow and highlight positions doesn't match on UFO and below the car.
Houses should have at least _something_ shiny on them as well, given this 'strong sunlight.'
UFO body is not blurred, seems stationary, unmoving. Why was only one photo taken if it is not moving? Why not stop the car, step outside and conveniently take another photo, this time showing a fully unobstructed object.
Photo originality unlikely. Fraud warning.
