SANTIAGO -- A 5.2-magnitude earthquake hit the First Region in northern Chile Tuesday morning, according to a Seismic Monitoring Network of the University of Chile

There were no damage or victims, said the National Emergency Office.

It struck at 6:10, local time, with its epicenter 30 km north of the port city Iquique and at a depth of 49.4 km, according to the Monitoring Network.

The quake was felt strongly in Iquique and other towns in the region.
