The Martin County Sheriff's Office has received multiple 911 calls about the waterspout, sheriff's spokesperson Christine Christofek said.
She said there is no indication that it has hit land and there have been no reports of injuries or damage.
A marine warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Melbourne for the Sebastian Inlet to the Jupiter Inlet. At 2:19 p.m. a strong thunderstorm was seen near Sewall's Point and Port Salerno and moving northeast.
The waterspout was a part of the thunderstorm activity, according to Robert Haley, a National Weather Service meteorologist. He said the storm and the waterspout have now moved about 50 to 60 miles offshore.
