This week, I've taken that same instinct — what some would call a contrarian reflex — and pointed it in a new direction: one that hits close to home.
I've published an op-ed in the Carolina Journal on the subject of UNC-Chapel Hill's virology program, and the deeply troubling evidence that it played a central role in creating the SARS-CoV-2 virus that killed over 20 million people globally.
Yes, you read that right. And no, it's not hyperbole.
This isn't just speculation. Thanks to court-ordered documents pried loose by the nonprofit watchdog US Right to Know, we now know that Ralph Baric's lab at UNC:
- Engineered novel SARS-related coronaviruses in partnership with the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
- Created these viruses with enhanced pandemic potential — on purpose.
- Proposed misleading the U.S. government about where the research would be conducted — claiming Chapel Hill, but planning Wuhan.
- Delivered both the blueprint and the lab-grown mice with humanized lungs needed to bring these viruses to life.
While you and I were locked down in our homes in the spring of 2020, UNC was dealing with a lab worker who got bitten by a mouse infected with a synthetic SARS-CoV-2 strain. They told the local health department. They asked the researcher to quarantine. Then they carried on like nothing happened.
Imagine, for comparison, if that had been a radioactive leak at NC State's nuclear reactor. The entire region would have been on red alert. But with viruses — somehow — we get silence, shrugs, and million-dollar awards.
UNC gave Ralph Baric the O. Max Gardner Award. The News & Observer made him Tar Heel of the Year. The NIH gave him $208 million.
But what Baric and UNC gave the world may be far darker.
As I write in the piece, this is less Mary Poppins than Mary Shelley. Frankenstein wasn't just a metaphor — he was a warning. We ignored it.
And just like we do with the Younger Dryas comet, the Carolina ivory tower, the media, and most of our political class don't want to talk about it. It's too messy. Too damning. Too disruptive.
But disruption is what the Tusk does. It's what I do. Whether it's meltglass in the Andes or mouse bites in a BSL-3 lab, I believe the truth deserves sunlight.
The editorial has already led to — and coincided with — very interesting developments that seemed impossible not long ago. I look forward to sharing more with you in the near future.

Governor Morrisey vowed to support the suit, stating he would not tolerate this infringement on religious freedoms by the “unelected bureaucrats” on the Board and pointed out that his executive order was simply interpreting West Virginia’s Equal Protection for Religion Act (EPRA) that was passed in 2023.
As Siri said during the press conference, the members of the Board of Education want “parents across this state, to adopt their beliefs, over [the parents’] own beliefs. But that’s not how the EPRA works, that’s not how the West Virginia Constitution works, and that’s certainly not what the First Amendment was intended to protect.”
And no, it doesn't seem they did. Where is he these days, I haven't seen anything in some time ?
I didn't believe that Dolby noise reduction was invented at
DolbyAmpex, even though Dolby did work thereI don't think it matters much here, other than David will choose the risk of notoriety for the sake of his own ego and fame.
That being said though. Is he right on the meaning of what is going on if not the details? For example, is he right about this new "event 201" that could lead to an actual (in fact) biologics weapons deployment operation in the US July 4th 2025? And by getting out the word (here and elsewhere) does it neutralize the effect? Basically if there are enough eye balls on something evil planned the 'evil' doers go to something else(and waste all the effort)?
One thing for meaning that I think he did get right was about the nuisance of the 'Nicene Creed' for its damage to the core of Christianity(at about 56 minutes in) basically bringing God down to Earth as a human creature(or just spiritually mere human "dad"). Leads to the nonsense in my opinion that "Jesus is God in the flesh" etc... And talking to God directly as one's personal "savior".
The Cs have told from almost the beginning to be wary of religiosity in all its forms and they are right.

So their goal is to create that, and then we collapse, the cartels are given three years to rape, pillage, loot, and burn, and when there's nothing left but a husk, they occupy.
The last 30 million, they sweep and make slaves out of, and this is all in the guy's speech: "30 million whites". They're very racist. They only want whites. They don't want anyone else – and that's just for a few years, to turn over the keys of how everything works.
Then we're gone, and what they have is "New China".
There for 2,500 years, their biggest problem is lack of arable land. Only 4% of China is arable. They have also polluted about 90% of their groundwater, so they've really painted themselves into a corner.
They intend, and this was actually in 1993, after the Soviets fell, the Chinese went to Russia, and they were afraid of what they'd seen, and they made a deal, and the deal is Russia is gonna get Alaska and western Canada. China gets the US and eastern Canada, and everyone is exterminated.
This becomes New China. It becomes the greatest farm in the world, and they occupy it as New China, and that's why I think that's why they don't care that they've polluted 90% of their own groundwater.
That's the plan, and if this sounds as crazy and extreme as it may, don't take my word for it. Go and Google this phrase, the secret speech of Chi Haotian, and they've never denied this leak. They've never denied it. It's the highest level leak in Chinese history. That's their plan for us..."
