Buffalo_Ken - after separating pieces and completing the perimeter, I believe I would try to connect the "shadow" pieces and then work my way out from there. The shadow pieces, if you look close at the image, encompass three main areas and their coloring is such that it would be easy to separate them and then connect them up. There are two smaller shadow "areas", but if you look close one of them extends out in a rather narrow "line" and it could be easy to find those pieces. I'm discussing the image at the very top of this article. After getting the shadow pieces together, I believe the top of the puzzle area would be the next easiest part to connect. The clouds should be relatively simple compared to the rest of the puzzle - which is difficult especially as the number of pieces increases.

ps - I'm almost done with that puzzle, probably already over 800 pieces connected. It gets easier when there are few choices, so this puzzle is gonna be completed soon! The next one has a bunch of books in it. 1000 pieces as well, but after that, I think I'm gonna graduate to 2000 or maybe 4000 pieces. Self-taught is best. I'm so pissed off sometimes working on puzzle is therapeutic. After it is completed, I paint it up with some puzzle glue, get a frame for it, and then hang it on the wall.
