Monitoring does nothing? We have spy satellites and who knows what all technology for surveillance. We're all being surveilled constantly inside and outside our homes through SMART technology, our phones/computers, and several million cameras. But we're dependent on fences and men with guns on our southern border? What sort of Wild Wild West throwback scenario is this? And why are we encouraged to be blissfully ignorant of the fact that the military planes flying overhead, and the ships meeting with cursory inspection standards at our ports, easily ensure no problem getting drugs into this country?
I really suspect that the wall was never intended to solve anything except the problem of keeping our collective attention diverted from whatever's really going on.
