Chris Suprun: Faithless Texan Elector and unwitting tool of the Clinton cabal
"This is the type of action by an individual that will probably prompt us ..."

A petition launched Tuesday to remove Chris Suprun from the Texas Electoral College has exceeded 18,000 signatures.

Chris Suprun, a 9/11 first responder, wrote an op-ed Monday announcing he will not cast his electoral vote for Donald Trump.

Despite the fact that Trump won the popular vote in Texas by a margin of almost 9 percent, Suprun states in his op-ed that he refuses to vote for Trump because he is "someone who shows daily he is not qualified for the office."

Citing his reasons for refusing to cast his electoral vote for Trump, Suprun pointed to Alexander Hamilton and Federalist 68.

"The United States was set up as a republic. Alexander Hamilton provided a blueprint for states' votes. Federalist 68 argued that an Electoral College should determine if candidates are qualified, not engaged in demagogy, and independent from foreign influence," Suprun wrote. "Mr. Trump shows us again and again that he does not meet these standards."

Comment: Suprun has obviously drunk from the anti-Trump pro-Killary kool aid and has perhaps been given some additional "incentive" from the Clinton cabal. Whatever the case is, this move is certainly indicative of a number of Americans who should get their facts straight (assuming they care about such things) as regards to who would make a better choice for US president based on their actual track record.

Suprun also questioned Trump's international business dealings. "We have reports that Mr. Trump's organization has business dealings in Argentina, Bahrain, Taiwan and elsewhere. Mr. Trump could be impeached in his first year given his dismissive responses to financial conflicts of interest," he wrote.

Suprun called on his fellow presidential electors to follow his lead and "vote their conscience."

"I believe electors should unify behind a Republican alternative, an honorable and qualified man or woman such as Gov. John Kasich of Ohio," he said.

Comment: So throw the entire popular vote and electoral college out the window because he's 'unhappy' with the election results. How arrogant of Suprun. Getting behind another Republican politician is just a ruse as this strategy of delegitimizing the Trump vote could only ultimately support Killary's bid for power.

Unlike some states that impose penalties for faithless electors, Texas law does not penalize electors who vote against the statewide popular vote.

However, that could soon change. Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Wednesday in a radio interview that Suprun's decision may lead Texas lawmakers to pass a law requiring electors to support the winner of the statewide popular vote.

"This is the type of action by an individual that will probably prompt us in the upcoming session to look at passing a law ... that says their electors must follow the will of the people," Patrick said.

Comment: What a novel idea - following the will of the people! Nice to see that Lt. Governor Patrick is showing a little common sense here and is moving to legislate against the insanity.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott also chimed in, tweeting "rogue Texas elector could lead to binding law."
