In recent years, I have found myself wondering, if mankind at large might be feeling a bit frenetic of late due to the natural climactic changes which are taking place around us now. My reasoning has to do with the possibility that ancestral memory is quietly telling many people that a natural dangerous time of change is close at hand. The event I am referring to is known as a Grand Solar Minimum. These events occur around every 190+/- years. In the past GSMinima were always a time of hardship due to the severe drop in temps which accompany this type of solar change, and the fact that they were also times of substantial crop failures leading to starvation for tens of million of people during the stronger GSMinima.
So there two threatening factors that tribes and larger groups would have been faced with every several hundred years for the last 12,000 years at least, every since the advent of the Holocene perhaps even prior to that as well. If this is in our ancestral memory how would people react to the threat perceived in the back of one's mind. I think this could be an explanation for why people have been known to go mad all at the same time as anxiety over their future well being sets in. The next GSM is presumed by some to be imminent. The last event was the Dalton Minimum which ran from 1795 to 1827, approximately. That was a weak GSM though. Still look at what happened in that time period as napoleon marched through Europe, and prior to that the US was formed in rebellion against the English overlords. The GSM prior to that was truly harsh, the Maunder Minimum, in which millions of Europeans either froze to death in the winter or starved to death as their food supplies dwindled.
Question, are we now feeling some back ground anxiety which could be attributed to the not so good olden days of yore?
