Officials at the Florida Humane Society in Pompano Beach told the Miami Herald that one of its cats turned on a faucet last week, leaving the water to run for 17 hours.
President Carol Ebert says the flooding caused water to run out the shelter's back door. No animals were injured, but the shelter is seeking donations to repair floors, cabinets and other damage estimated around $5,000.
Volunteer Terry Arbour says the shelter suspects a 6-month-old kitten known to play in the sinks.
The cat's name was not released. Arbour says the cat was recently adopted and its new owners were told it was "intelligent enough to turn on water faucets."

so happy to have some real news for a change. Why, I have even been taken aback about how the NYT insists on printing news about foreign governments hanky-panky and insisting it is US news!!
Entire articles of nearly 10 years, 10 years!!!! of some crooked company pretending to build a green energy coal fired plant. And the provincial governor obviously getting kick backs from the big money for legally making the public responsible!! Who ever heard of such from the US!!
Another one probably from Columbia or somewhere south says companies refuse to pay weekly and send their employees to the local ATM to get an advance they have to pay for!!! The US got rid of the coal mine company stores 75 years ago!!!!!
The entire Tuesday NYT was chock full of this phoney news and I for one am tired of reading third world escapades in my American paper. You would think the NYT would be ashamed to print such untruthful garbage!!!
Why next they will be telling us that infrasound is responsible for the clusters of ill children and we should all move to Deaf Smith county Texas for good health based on the magnesium found in the unique El Miirador valley in Guatamala or that our sun Sol is a magnetar!!!!!!!!!!!
