"The DEA and the IRS are getting information from the NSA and using it to frame American citizens and then lying about where they got the information," Dax Ewbank of Oklahoma City said at the event. "This is what is happening. Now, what happens if the government becomes politically against my belief system or my lifestyle?"
Ewbank was referring to documents recently obtained by Reuters that showed the NSA was providing data to the Special Operations Division of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The DEA Special Operations Division in turn was sending tips to both local authorities and federal agencies, including the IRS, to help them launch criminal investigations of Americans.
"I do not accept this idea that we need to wait for two years while you guys figure out what to do," Ewbanks said. "It needs to end now."
Lankford in July joined with 216 other representatives to vote down an amendment to the annual defense spending bill that would have prohibited the NSA from collecting data that does not pertain to a person under investigation.
In a video uploaded to YouTube, Lankford said he voted against the amendment because it was included in a appropriations bill, which he described as problematic.

anyone who enter politics or any other "important" job in USA or in allied country is vulnerable to "higher" interest. none cannot do honestly his job if someone else has bunch of personal data collected during decades. waiting the day when man with yellow envelope approaching. by my opinion NSA spying and collecting data is criminal act like spying in somebody else house. it is ridiciolous that they claim they prevent terrorist act, the same one which they initialize. they do that because they can. that is the only reason. and if it does not matter , as ballhead is saying, why they dont put their personal communications transcript, and private life details public available. if really doesn't matter.
