Egypt announces Hamas-Israel ceasefire, Netanyahu office confirms

Egypt's foreign minister has announced that a ceasefire in Gaza will begin at 19:00 GMT Wednesday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that a deal had been reached.

Earlier, Israeli sources said the siege of Gaza will not be lifted despite the truce, Al Jazeera reported.

Rumors about an imminent truce have been circulating in the media for a while.

On Tuesday, Hamas official Ayman Taha announced that an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire was to be declared in Gaza at 19:00 GMT and would go into effect at 22:00 GMT the same night. Shortly after the announcement, Israel said a ceasefire deal was yet to be finalized.

Also on Tuesday, Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi expressed certainty that Gaza and Israel would shortly reach a ceasefire, but did not elaborate on the matter.

Comment: More than 150 Palestinians have been killed and some 1,200 injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza so far. How long will this ceasefire last?

I have been wondering...is this also an attempt to legitimize the muslim brotherhood party in egypt? By having them broker this cease-fire, since when does egypt moderate such things? Since they are busy keeping their side of the border closed don't they bear responsibility for some of the israeli crimes?

Cease fire?

There may be a momentary lull in the firing of the Israeli jets and the " Hamas" rockets,like the momentary lull while I or you re- load the gun.The Israeli faction of the 4D overlords consortium,are under orders to murder and committ atrocities unimaginable on any human scale of measurement.So this cease fire is just a momentary lull while the 4D denizens inhale and consume the energy produced by the fear.murder,hate,sorrow,death,anger and the Psycopathic glee that is exhibited by the supporters of the Israeli faction.The Palestinian people are being systematically murdered and their Spiritual Soverignty is being violated by the leaders of the people who are supposed to know how it feels to be treated like diseased beasts.It would appear that the Israeli leadership have sold their souls for momentary dominance on Earth.They will get what they desire.

"Israeli Army Chief of Staff, Benni Gantz, stated Wednesday that the Israeli army will continue its offensive against the Gaza Strip “as if mediation efforts are not ongoing”, and added that the army is following an agenda that will be implemented despite of what happens on the political spectrum.
