Dick Cheney receives heart transplant: aide

Former Vice President Dick Cheney received a heart transplant Saturday afternoon at a Virginia hospital, according to the Associated Press.

Cheney, who suffered his fifth heart attack in 2010, did not know the identity of the heart donor after waiting 20 months for the operation, as told to the AP by his aide Kara Ahern.

Cheney is recovering at the Intensive Care Unit Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va.

Another one, or is this his first heart transplant, and the other operations he has had were merely trying to fix that which isn't there, a heart.

Years ago ago the heart surgeon Paul Pearsall wrote a fascinating book called, "The Heart's Code," an excerpt of a review of which is below and you can pull down the full review text at this [Link] .

I do wonder what happens in a case where it's some 90-ish% probable that a psychopath receives the heart of a human.

If I were him, I too wouldn't be in any hurry to meet my maker and face my reckoning.
Maybe he's realised that his master won't be fulfilling any promises in the spiritual world.
Cheney isn't just a "useless eater", he's a useless breather too.

New heart won't do much for him. Given that the new heart he has is programmed for a different body on so many levels that even if his body accepts it, he is still in the doghouse for the rest of his life.

I believe it was the ancients(Chinese, Egyptian) who thought of the heart as the mind and ruler of the body and you just don't go around getting 'mind' transplants. You lose the one you had, it's pretty much game over if it wasn't already since you were on the verge of losing it already.

Also makes one wonder what it means that heart disease/ailments are so prevalent in the modern world.

I had a quadruple bypass surgery and when I woke up, the doctor said I had 3 strokes, besides. That was almost 5 years ago on Memorial Day. I used to say, I hope that nobody, even my worst enemy, would never have to go with the B.S. that I went through. ALERT! I take it back.
