Hypnosis has been known and used in psychiatry and psychology for at least a hundred years, and they are "debating" about the existence of a hypnotic state?
Someone must be trying to muddy the waters. Of all the questions in modern psychology, this one seems the least in doubt.
I am surprised that they are using the eyes as an indicator; I don't think we're getting the whole story behind this work.
The hypnotic state is ANY state of mind in which "conscious" control of the mind and body has been lowered or removed. This results in the exposure of the subconscious "firmware" of the person for possible erasure and reprogramming. This reprogramming, if done aggressively enough, can successively remove the conscious being from control in the waking state. It is untrue, however, that the being is totally unaware that he has been reprogrammed. Such incidents can be contacted by the being, and undone. Since these incidents can also happen by mistake - such as during an injury - resulting in bizarre and useless post-hypnotic suggestions, it can be of considerable relief to people to locate and erase such incidents.
The hypnotic state is of considerable value to the "mind control" boys. And the last thing they want us to know is that hypnotic reprogramming can be undone. This is my guess as to why they do not want us to gain a good understanding of it.
