A man has died after the trailer he was in was flipped by a strong storm that hit Marinette County earlier Friday evening.

Dozens of trees and power lines are down after the storm tore through the area. Officials say they believe it was an apparent tornado.

A former mobile home is nothing more than a pile of debris. And it now marks the spot where a man lost his life.

"A trailer home was flipped over and collapsed on top of a gentleman," said Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve.

Sauve says he believes a tornado touched down, leveled the mobile home, and killed the only person inside.

"The coroner pronounced him dead on the scene and he is working on making a positive ID and notifying family members at this time," said Sauve.

The storm aftermath shocks even the Sheriff, who's seen his share of storms. He noticed the neighbors' truck, hundreds of feet from where it should be, sitting near the leveled trailer.

"This is pretty bad. We've got a lot of damage. We've got several buildings that are damaged," said Sauve.

A semi truck, parked close to where the victim was found, is on its side. Part of its trailer was torn off. Residents are on edge after witnessing the fierce storm.

"It was crazy. I was actually outside at home when it happened. It just started pouring and then hail and lightning and thunder," said Teri Edlebeck, Wausaukee.

It will take a while to cleanup the storm aftermath. But Sauve says the hard part is this was more than a destructive storm, it was a deadly one.
