don't "scare" birds, they just take biologically natural precautions like sheltering. Up until the last several years, bird die-offs after thunderstorms were unusual. When you were a kid, don't you remember that after a storm passed (even those producing tornadoes), the birds came right back out again, singing and going about whatever business they were up to before the storm struck. Try looking at microbursts. Also, birds, as well as anything else organic, can carry disease, whether dead or alive. People who don't know anything about "nature" shouldn't be allowed to placate or scare the population.
