US: Small Magnitude 3.1 Earthquake Hits Central California

A small earthquake shook a portion of Central California early Sunday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The magnitude 3.1 earthquake struck at 2:16 a.m. in a sparsely populated, mountainous area about eight miles northwest of Grapevine, Calif., and 78 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, according to the preliminary report of the quake. There are no reports of damage.

New bolds on these reports...

I've been noticing that the actual magnitude of the quake along with part that reports damage or injuries( or should i say the lack thereof dominantly) being in bold more recently. I am guessing the former is due to a) bring more awareness of the quakes and their strength to peoples mind or b) that the actual strength may be off in calculation, and the latter is a) allegedly acurate as of now but may be different as things continue to "heat up" or b) are as well inacurate and that information pertaining to destruction/injuries are being potentially covered up to contain proper information getting out to the public. Can the editors please clearify for me

that is what i thought. but my question was as to why they have become bold more recently when such reports on earthquake activity never used to have this edit to them.
