Obviously, the floods and the droughts are in different areas. Or is it that obvious?
Whatever is going on, it seems they are suffering from climate problems similar to those here in the US. Here in Seattle it's June and we've only had two really warm "summer" days so far this year. Other than that, nothing special to report.
But here's something to consider: Things like this can be anticipated to some extent. And in some regions, like along the Mississippi, levies are built to protect from flooding. And in other regions water works are built to help keep more arid land from getting too dry. But these projects seem to be just the minimum needed to get by. No responsible body seems willing to commit enough resources to do a good, thorough job of protecting people, land (topsoil), and property from various forms of destruction. The only security is in abundance. And all we hear about is shortages.
That makes me think that somebody is planning it this way. Why don't we demand planners that can take the planet in a more pro-survival direction?
